On August 28, 2026, the International Engineering and Technology University held its Academic Council meeting No. 1 for the 2026–2027 academic year. The key meeting on the eve of the new academic year was chaired by the Rector of the University, D.Akpanbetov.
The Academic Council comprehensively reviewed the main activity areas and upcoming tasks of the university for the new academic year.
Specifically, the new composition of the Academic Council was approved, structural changes within the university, personnel appointments, preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, and strategic objectives were discussed. Additionally, the annual work plan of the Academic Council, the teaching workloads for the faculty staff, and the staffing table for the 2026–2027 academic year were approved, and the results of the admissions committee`s work were summarized.
Special attention was drawn to the readiness of the material and technical base, digital infrastructure, and security systems for the new academic year. Internal regulatory documents of the university were reviewed, setting concrete goals for further enhancing educational, research, and management processes.
Opening the Academic Council, D.Akpanbetov emphasized that the university faces large-scale tasks in the new academic year.
"Every initiative of the university should primarily aim at improving educational quality, developing science, and creating favorable conditions for our students to receive a quality education. In the new academic year, we must not limit ourselves to past achievements; we need to elevate academic quality, scientific potential, and the university`s competitiveness to a new level. This is a shared task for the entire team," said D.Akpanbetov.
Furthermore, the Rector separately highlighted the recently published collection of selected speeches and reflections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, titled "For a Just Society - Honest Words" ("Әділетті қоғамға – шыншыл сөз"), sharing his insights on the work.
The publication gathers core ideas on justice, education, labor, responsibility, and the future of Kazakhstan. Offering a deeper understanding of the country`s development vector, the book will be valuable to all readers interested in modern public processes and state policy. The head of the university noted that the President`s initiatives, built upon justice and knowledge, closely align with the university`s development strategy and the mission of educating the younger generation.
During the meeting, several assignments were issued regarding education quality assurance, revitalization of scientific research, digital transformation, infrastructure modernization, and establishing a safe, modern educational environment for students in the upcoming academic year.
