On September
11, 2026, the International Engineering and Technological University (METU)
welcomed Almasbek Yessenbekovich Zhanabylov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of
the Center for International Programs, on an official visit.
As part of
the visit, an information briefing was held for METU students, master’s
students, and faculty members. The briefing focused on international education
programs, scholarship opportunities, and the Bolashak International
Scholarship Program.
The event
was opened by the Rector of METU, Darkhan Berikovich Akpanbetov, who
welcomed the distinguished guest and introduced Almasbek Yessenbekovich
Zhanabylov to the university’s academic community. In his remarks, the
Rector emphasized the importance of such meetings in expanding opportunities
for students and faculty members in international education, academic mobility,
research, and professional development.
During the
briefing, Mr. Zhanabylov provided detailed information about the current
opportunities offered by the Center for International Programs.
Participants were introduced to the Bolashak International Scholarship Program,
research internships, intergovernmental grants, and other international
educational initiatives.
Particular
attention was given to eligibility requirements, the stages of the competitive
selection process, priority fields of study, the specifics of selecting foreign
universities, as well as opportunities for education and professional
development abroad.
The
practical part of the meeting generated considerable interest among
participants. Students, master’s students, and faculty members had the
opportunity to address their questions directly to Almasbek Yessenbekovich
regarding eligibility for the Bolashak Program, language requirements, the
selection of foreign universities, research internships, and the application
process. Participants received detailed and practical explanations.
The
official visit of a representative of the leadership of the Center for
International Programs provided METU’s academic community with a valuable
opportunity to receive up-to-date information on international educational
opportunities directly from an expert and to engage in open professional
dialogue.
METU places particular emphasis on developing international academic cooperation and expanding opportunities for students and faculty members to participate in international educational, research, and professional development programs.
