Ahead of Almaty Day and World Cleanup Day, a number of environmental initiatives aimed at protecting the environment were organized across the city. One of them was a citywide clean-up campaign held as part of the national “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative. Students of the International Engineering and Technology University  actively joined the initiative and took part in a clean-up at the Ayusai recreation area.

The event was held as part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative launched by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and took place across all districts of Almaty. Beautification and clean-up activities were carried out simultaneously in different parts of the city, including parks and squares, residential courtyards, public spaces and recreation areas.

METU students cleaned the Ayusai area and contributed to preserving the cleanliness of the natural environment. As part of the citywide clean-up, more than 1,000 trees were planted in Almaty. Students, volunteers, representatives of public organizations, municipal services, businesses and institutions took part in the initiative.

The “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative is aimed at promoting a responsible attitude towards the environment and fostering a culture of cleanliness in society. It is important that such efforts are carried out systematically and become part of everyday life.

World Cleanup Day, which coincided with the celebration of Almaty Day, brought together festive and environmental initiatives. Tens of thousands of Almaty residents contributed to the improvement of the city and its green areas. METU students also actively supported the initiative, contributing to the cleanliness and preservation of Almaty’s natural environment.
