In the 2024–2025 academic year, Tleumaganbetova Umitai, a student of the “Technologies and engineering of food production” educational programme, won І place in the Republican student research competition under the scientific supervision of Abuova A.B. Following this achievement, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan designated METU as the host university for the Republican competition in the 2025–2026 academic year.

The competition, held at METU, brought together students from higher education institutions across Kazakhstan, who presented their research projects.

According to the competition results, METU students Zhangir B., Morozova K., and Sokolnikov K. were awarded ІІІ place, demonstrating their scientific potential and research abilities.
