On
October 29, 2026, as part of
English Language Week, Tebegenova Altynarai Temirkhanovna, Associate Professor
and Candidate of Philological Sciences at the Department of Social Sciences,
Humanities and World Languages, conducted a creative lesson for students from
groups ITvEE-1r-26 and BT-1r-26.
The aim of the lesson was to
integrate Kazakh and English language learning, improve students’ communication
skills in both languages, and encourage them to apply their knowledge in
practice. During the introductory part, students explored the history, origins
and traditions of Halloween in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom
and Ireland. Discussing the cultural aspects of the holiday helped broaden
their understanding of English-speaking countries and their traditions.
The practical activities were
connected with Kazakh grammar topics, including numerals, adjectives, pronouns
and verbs. Using pictures displayed on the interactive board, students
described characters, counted objects and analysed different situations. By
completing tasks in both Kazakh and English, they practised bilingual
communication and applied their language skills in practical contexts. The
lesson incorporated educational games, pair and group work, and visual
analysis. Linking Kazakh and English with the history and culture of
English-speaking countries demonstrated an effective approach to interdisciplinary learning.
The creative lesson encouraged
active participation, increased students’ interest in language learning, and
helped develop critical thinking and intercultural communication skills.
