Karlygash Nurlanovna Shokhayeva, Director of the Department for International Cooperation at the International Engineering and Technological University (METU), held an official meeting with Şükür Murza, Education Attaché at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Almaty.

The meeting focused on developing cooperation in higher education, expanding academic ties between universities, and implementing joint educational projects within the framework of the friendly and fraternal relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.

Particular attention was given to expanding academic cooperation between METU and Turkish universities, as well as organising joint cultural and educational events. These initiatives aim to strengthen institutional engagement and promote intercultural connections among students and faculty.

One of the key topics was the development of Turkish language teaching at METU. The participants explored the possibility of inviting Turkish language instructors from Türkiye. This initiative could help students improve their language skills, gain a deeper understanding of Turkish culture, and broaden their opportunities to participate in international education programmes.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed their interest in strengthening educational and cultural ties and further developing cooperation.
