'Research Technologist' is a club at the International Engineering and Technology University (hereinafter referred to as the Club). It serves as an event that regulates the procedure for conducting the competition for the title of 'Research Technologist of the International Engineering and Technology University (METU).'

The Club operates in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On Education' and the Charter of METU.

The mission of the Club is to provide students with the opportunity to feel like creators, seekers, discoverers, and masters of their craft.

The Club is not a legal entity.

Purpose and Objectives of the Club’s Activities

The Goals of the Club:

  • Development of students' aesthetic taste;
  • Expanding students' knowledge of the concepts of bakery and confectionery production, as well as public catering;
  • Studying dishes from various national cuisines;
  • Fostering and developing students' creative abilities in culinary arts;
  • Practical application of technological charts in dish preparation.

Main Objectives of the Club:

  • Forming the need for independent activity;
  • Familiarizing students with general labor processes;
  • Instilling basic work skills and the ability to use culinary tools and equipment;
  • Introducing students to the rules and techniques of food preparation;
  • Acquainting students with sanitation, hygiene rules, and safe work practices;
  • Introducing students to the principles of culinary etiquette;
  • Teaching how to prepare basic dishes;
  • Teaching the techniques of aesthetically presenting prepared dishes;
  • Instilling skills for efficient household management;
  • Promoting the development of a tolerant attitude towards others by introducing culinary traditions of different nations and cultures;
  • Developing students' communication skills and presentation abilities.В соответствии с возложенными на него задачами Кружок:
  • The Club operates throughout the year in two stages;
  • At the first stage, all students and faculty/staff members of METU participate. The curator provides a report on the work done with the academic group according to the evaluation criteria, along with supporting documents (group information card, certificates, diplomas, wall newspapers, photo reports of held events, etc.).

 

 

 

Rights and Responsibilities of Club Members

Club members have the right to:

  • Apply the knowledge they have gained;
  • Attend all club meetings;
  • Work in a team;
  • Independently develop technological processes;
  • Realize their creative potential;
  • Enhance their creativity and demonstrate it;
  • Present the dishes they have prepared.

Club members are obliged to:

  • Demonstrate the level of developed professional competencies;
  • Showcase their ability to work independently;
  • Display mastery of professional skills.

Structure and Management of the Club
The organizational structure of the Club includes:

  • Scientific advisors of the Club (Scientific advisor of the Club);
  • Club Chairperson;
  • Club Secretary.
    The scientific advisors of the Club (Scientific advisor of the Club) are elected from the faculty members of the University.

The responsibilities of the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club) include:

  • Developing the program documents of the Club;
  • Making decisions about admitting a new member to the Club or expelling a member;
  • Proposing amendments to this Regulation;
  • Coordinating the club's work calendar for the academic year and/or month;
  • Carrying out strategic management of the Club's activities;
  • Determining the topics for Club meetings;
  • Conducting Club meetings.
  • The Chairperson of the Club is the highest official of the Club and carries out overall, including operational, management of the Club's activities.
  • The Chairperson of the Club is elected by a relative majority of votes from the permanent members of the Club.
  • Permanent members of the Club are considered to be students of the university who have attended at least 4 consecutive meetings of the Club prior to the elections.
  • The election of the Chairperson of the Club takes place at least once a year. The date of the election is set by the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club).
  • All permanent members of the Club are informed about the election of the Chairperson in an open and accessible manner, including through social media, at least three weeks before the election date.
  • The format of the election of the Chairperson of the Club is determined by the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club).
  • Candidates for the position of Chairperson of the Club must present their development plans for the Club in a free form at least a week before the election date for publication and distribution to all permanent members of the Club.
  • The results of the election of the Chairperson of the Club are communicated to all Club members in an open and accessible manner the day after the election.
  • One person may hold the position of Chairperson of the Club for an unlimited number of terms.

The responsibilities of the Chairperson of the Club include the coordination and organization of the Club's activities, including:

  • Convening regular and extraordinary Club meetings;
  • Developing a plan and procedure for events organized by the Club and coordinating them with the scientific advisors;
  • Providing information support for the Club's activities and events (preparing announcements, post-releases, event reports, managing current information sections, preparing various promotional and informational materials) and coordinating content with the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club);
  • Ensuring the technical organization and direct management of events held by the Club (choosing the date, time, and location, booking the venue, meeting invited speakers, etc.);
  • Representing the Club's interests and interacting on behalf of the Club in relationships with the University, based on these Regulations;
  • Preparing and presenting an annual report on the Club's activities to the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club).
  • If necessary, with the consent of the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club), executive bodies of the Club (including departments and areas) may be created for managing the Club's current operations. The functionality, leaders, and personnel of these bodies are determined by the Chairperson of the Club.
  • The Secretary of the Club is appointed by the Chairperson from among the Club members. The responsibilities of the Secretary include maintaining all internal documentation of the Club.

Membership in the Club
A member of the Club may be a student, graduate student, or alumni of the University who regularly participates in Club meetings (at least two consecutive meetings).
In cases determined by the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club), individuals who are not students, graduate students, or alumni of the University may be admitted to the Club.
An honorary member of the Club may be a faculty member who contributes to the development of the Club.
Membership in the Club ends due to:

  • Voluntary withdrawal;
  • Expulsion by the decision of the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club) for actions incompatible with these regulations or for violating the University's local regulations.

Final Provisions

These Regulations come into force after their approval at the Academic Council meeting and remain in effect until the next set of regulations is approved. (The meeting minutes and the order number in scanned form should be provided.)

The first Chairperson of the Club is appointed by the decision of the Scientific Advisors of the Club (Scientific Advisor of the Club).
