History of Scientific Discoveries
LLP "Scientific and Production Center of Microbiology and Virology" traces its history to January 30, 1956, when the Institute of Microbiology and Virology was founded on the basis of the Microbiology Sector of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (Resolution of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR No. 13).
Since its foundation, the Center has evolved from a scientific institution of an academic profile into a leading Kazakhstani organization combining fundamental and applied research with its own production of biotechnological products.
