The main functions of accounting :

• organization of accounting and reporting at the University and its departments on the basis of maximum centralization of accounting and computing work and the use of modern technical means and information technologies, advanced forms and methods of accounting and control;
• preparation of reliable financial statements on the basis of primary documents and its submission in due time to the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• formation of accounting policy in accordance with the legislation on accounting, based on the structure and characteristics of the University and the need to ensure its financial stability;
• work on preparation and adoption of the working plan of accounts, forms of primary accounting documents used for registration of business transactions for which standard forms are not provided;
• observance of financial and cash discipline, legality of write-off from accounts of accounting of shortages, accounts receivable and other losses, safety of accounting documents, rules of registration and their delivery in accordance with the established procedure in archive;
• execution of the plan of financial and economic activity of the University in the context of articles of economic classification;
• preparation of annual, quarterly financial statements and operational summary reports on income and expenses of funds, other accounting and statistical reports, providing them in accordance with the established procedure to the relevant authorities;
• control over the expenditure of the remuneration Fund;
• calculations and salary payments to employees and students, graduate students and doctoral students of the university;
• accounting of income and expenses from the provision of paid educational services by the university and target items of expenses in accordance with the plan for the financial and economic activities of the university;
• accounting of income and expenses from research and development activities of the university and target items of expenses in accordance with the plan for the financial and economic activities of the university;
• accounting of income and expenses from income-generating activities of the university and target items of expenses in accordance with the plan for the financial and economic activities of the university;
• ensuring the inventory procedure;
• organization of write-off of fixed assets and tangible assets;
• preparation of reliable tax reporting based on primary documents and providing it in a timely manner;
• compilation and verification of tax registers.
