Goals and objectives of the discipline

formation of ideas about the scientific content and analysis of cultural problems; mastering by students of the basic methodological and theoretical provisions of modern cultural studies; familiarization with the main stages of the formation of cultural knowledge, taking into account their personification; mastering the basic categories of cultural studies, methods of analysis; to form students' ideas about the main approaches and directions of cultural analysis, about the most important features of various epochs of the history of world and national culture, about modern problems and trends in the development of culture.

Brief description of the discipline:

"Culturology" examines the general problems of the theory of culture, the leading culturological concepts, universal laws and mechanisms of formation and development of culture, the main historical stages of formation and development of world and Kazakh culture, their most important achievements.

Learning outcomes

According to the results of mastering the program, the student has the following learning outcomes (competencies):

• possess knowledge of historical, cultural and scientific achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan; use data from historical sources and special literature; analyze and evaluate historical facts and events;
• possess a broad socio-social, political and professional outlook;
• have an idea of the subject, functions, main sections and directions of philosophy; the place and role of philosophy in the life of society and man, apply knowledge of philosophical and methodological principles of cognition in professional activity;
• discuss ethical, cultural, socially significant issues in discussions, express your point of view, defend it in a reasoned manner, critically evaluate the opinion of interlocutors.
