The executor of the Tempus IV international project "Master's programs of economic engineers in the field of energy and sustainable development" (partners are universities of Kazakhstan, Russia, France, Finland, Germany).

The contractor of the project to study the flow characteristics of the main and backup pumping stations and develop recommendations for optimizing the operating modes of pumping stations.

Electric drive in automated systems

The purpose of the discipline is to form students'' knowledge about the importance of electric drive in modern scientific and technological progress. As a result of studying the discipline, the student will be able to develop schematic diagrams for controlling an automated electric drive, design an electric drive control system for an industrial mechanism according to specified technological requirements, calculate power and choose the type of electric drive of typical industrial mechanisms, analyze the energy performance of the electric drive with various methods of regulating the speed of rotation of electric motors, recommend the optimal law of electric drive control depending on the nature of the load, make decisions and evaluate their consequences by analyzing relevant information, using a variety of analytical methods in their professional activities.

Energy efficiency and energy saving

The purpose of the discipline is to form students ' systematic knowledge in the field of energy saving in electric power systems, to develop skills in the application of standard measures, modern technologies and solutions to improve the energy efficiency of electric power systems. As a result of studying the discipline, the student will gain skills in determining the effective modes of operation of electric power facilities and ensuring energy saving and improving energy efficiency in electric power systems. The student can use the acquired knowledge in the future in the design and operation of energy facilities.

Calculation and design of electric power networks and systems

The purpose of the discipline is to develop knowledge in the field of theory of calculations and analysis of modes of electric power systems and networks, ensuring their design and operation efficiency, reliability,and quality of electricity. As a result of studying the discipline, the student will gain skills in calculating the operating modes of open, simple closed and complex-closed electrical networks; choosing the number and power of transformers; choosing the means of regulating the voltage in the network; choosing the option for the development of the electric network, taking into account the reliability of power supply to consumers; choosing the cross-sections of conductors according to the conditions of economy and heating; choosing the cross-section of conductors according to the permissible voltage loss. The student can use the acquired knowledge in the future when designing electrical networks and systems

Electromechanical energy converters

The purpose of the discipline is to form students ' theoretical base on modern electromechanical energy converters, which will allow them to successfully solve theoretical and practical problems in their professional activities related to the design, testing and operation of electric machines. As a result of studying the discipline, the student will gain skills in the use of modern and promising areas of development of electromechanical converters, operation and determination of the main parameters of electromechanical energy conversion systems; management of the impact of systems on the quality and energy efficiency of technological processes. The student can use the acquired knowledge in the future in the design and operation of electromechanical converters.
