Medeu is a large sports complex located at an altitude of 1691.2 m above sea level in the foothills of the TRANS-ili Alatau.Construction of the complex began in the fall of 1949, the first official games were held on February 4, 1951. Artificial ice at the stadium was laid only in 1972.Ice rink for winter sports, the area of the artificial ice rink is 10.5 thousand square meters, the thickness of the ice cover on the rink is 2.3 meters. Comfortable climate in the foothills, favorable level of solar radiation, low air pressure and clean mountain water provide high quality ice. More than 120 world records are made here.The complex is also indispensable in summer. It hosts various sports competitions. And in winter the main season opens.

The skating on the ice came the students of the Kazakhstan engineering-technological University, which rested on the nature, rest on fresh air and had a great time. The youth thanked the organizers and supported the holding of such events.
