General provisions

The English Club of the Kazakh Engineering and Technological University (hereinafter referred to as the Club) is a permanent creative association of initiative, interested and striving for self-improvement of students and teachers based on voluntary membership.

The Club carries out its activities on the principles of tolerance, humanity, priority of universal values and interests of higher education, cooperation of students and teaching staff, voluntariness, equality, self-government and legality. The Club is free to define its internal structure, goals, forms and methods of its activities.

The Club's mission is to promote the development of English language skills of university students, the disclosure of their creative potential, the improvement of communication skills and leadership qualities;

The club is not a legal entity.

The full name of the Club in Russian is "English Club of the Kazakh Engineering and Technological University". The abbreviated name in Russian is "English Club". The full name in English is "English Club of Kazakhstan Engineering Technological University". The abbreviated name in English is "English Club".

The purpose and objectives of the Club's activities

Club Goals:

• formation of a competitive personality with creative skills and abilities, capable of self-realization;
• formation of students' communicative and socio-cultural competencies;
• formation of readiness for cultural self-development, ethnic, racial and social tolerance, speech tact and sociocultural politeness;
• creating an atmosphere of creativity and cooperation, allowing club members to self-actualize.

The main tasks of the Club:

• attracting the maximum number of interested persons to participate in the meetings of the club;
• fostering a culture of communication in English;
• disclosure and development of organizational abilities of club members;
• increasing students' motivation to regularly use English for scientific and academic purposes.

In accordance with the tasks assigned to him , the Club:

• organizes and conducts meetings in English;
• monitors the level of demand for events and regularly evaluates the quality of their implementation.

Rights and obligations of Club members

Club members have the right to:

• participate in the activities of the Club;
• participate in the planning of events and the development of topics for meetings;
• get complete and reliable information about the work of the Club;
• participate in the development of the Club's program documents;
• freely disseminate information about the activities of the Club;
• initiate changes in the Club's activities in order to increase its effectiveness;
• voluntarily leave the Club.

Club members are required to:

• to contribute to the fulfillment of the goals and objectives of the Club;
• execute decisions of the Club;
• not to commit actions (inaction) that damage the reputation of the Club.

Club structure and management

The organizational structure of the Club includes:

• Scientific supervisors of the Club (Scientific Director of the Club);
• Chairman of the Club;
• Club secretary.
• The scientific leaders of the Club (the Scientific Director of the Club) are elected (elected) from among the teaching staff of the University.

The competence of the Scientific leaders of the Club (the Scientific director of the Club) includes:

• development of the Club's program documents;
• making a decision on the admission of a new member to the Club or on the exclusion of a member of the Club;
• making proposals to amend this Regulation;
• approval of the Club's work schedule for the academic year and (or) month;
• implementation of strategic management of the Club's activities;
• determining the topics of meetings of Club members;
• holding meetings of Club members.
• The Chairman of the Club is the highest official of the Club and carries out general, including operational, management of the Club's activities.
• The Chairman of the Club is elected by a relative majority of votes of the permanent members of the Club from among the permanent members of the Club. Permanent members of the Club are university students who have participated in at least 4 meetings of the Club in a row before the elections.
• The election of the Chairman of the Club is held at least once a year. The date of the election is appointed (appoints) Scientific leaders of the Club (Scientific director of the Club).
• All permanent members of the Club, including through social networks, are notified of the election of the Chairman of the Club in an open and accessible way at least three weeks before the election.
• The format of the election of the Chairman of the Club is determined (determines) Scientific leaders of the Club (Scientific director of the Club).
• Candidates for the position of Chairman of the Club at least a week before the date of the election submit in free form plans for the development of the Club for publication and communication to all permanent members of the Club.
• The results of the election of the Chairman of the Club are communicated to all members of the Club in an open and accessible way on the day after the election.
• One person may hold the position of Chairman of the Club for an unlimited number of terms.

The competence of the Chairman of the Club includes the functions of coordinating and organizing the activities of the Club, including:

• convocation of regular and extraordinary meetings of the Club;
• development of a plan and procedure for events organized by the Club and its coordination with scientific supervisors;
• provision of information support for the Club's activities and events held by the Club (preparation of announcements, post-releases, reports on the event, maintenance of current information headings, preparation of various advertising and informational materials) and coordination of its content with the Scientific leaders of the Club (Scientific Director of the Club);
• providing technical organization and direct organization of events held by the Club (choosing the date, time and venue of the event, booking an audience, meeting invited speakers, etc.).
• representation of the Club's interests and interaction on the basis of this Regulation on behalf of the Club in relations with the University;
• formation and presentation of the annual report on the activities of the Club to the Scientific Directors of the Club (the Scientific Director of the Club).
• If necessary, in agreement with the Scientific Leaders of the Club (the Scientific director of the Club), for the implementation of the current work on the management of the Club, the executive bodies of the Club (including departments, directions) can be formed, the functionality, managers and personnel of which are determined by the Chairman of the Club.
• The Secretary of the Club is appointed by the Chairman of the Club from among the members of the Club. The competence of the Club Secretary includes the maintenance of all internal documentation of the Club.

Club Membership

A member of the Club can be a student, a graduate student or a University graduate who systematically participates in Club meetings (at least two meetings in a row).

In cases established by the Scientific Directors of the Club (the Scientific Director of the Club), persons who are not students, undergraduates or graduates of the University can be accepted as members of the Club.

An honorary member of the club may be a representative of the teaching staff who contributes to the development of the Club.

Membership in the club is terminated due to:

• voluntary exit;
• an exception by the decision of the Scientific leaders of the Club (the Scientific director of the Club) for actions incompatible with this provision, or for violation of local regulations of the University.

Final provisions

This Regulation comes into force after its approval at a meeting of the Academic Council and is valid until the approval of the following regulation.

The First Chairman of the Club is appointed by the decision of the Scientific Leaders of the Club (the Scientific director of the Club).
